Consider the ending. Did you expect it? Most of us at the book club were taken aback by the ending. It was a pleasant surprise. This was a book that was filled with magic, a dysfunctional family and the way it all came together in the end. Is the story plot or character driven? Character driven. It appeared to me as if for every good character in the book, the author introduced an opposite. Some of this made the story a bit unrealistic but overall it was a good book.
Is the plot well-developed? The plot is well developed and most parts are believable. Through her array of characters, the author introduced many Interesting details that made the story magical. For this reader, the book picked up pace when Hayle Coven is threatened and the excitement did not stop after that.
